Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient medical coders to join our remote team. Candidates should have AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 3+ years hospital coding, and proficiency with ICD/PCS and healthcare documentation.

This full-time, remote role offers a flexible schedule and the chance to contribute to healthcare data integrity. You will review records, assign codes, ensure accuracy, track CEUs, and participate in company education sessions.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 3+ years of hospital coding experience.
• Proficiency with key coding specialties.
• Strong remote-work and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign diagnoses and procedure codes.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge dispositions.
• Enter coded data for hospital reporting.
• Communicate improvements and resolve coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC accuracy.
• Track continuing education credits.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education sessions.
• Demonstrate initiative in responsibilities.
• Communicate with staff about clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Work professionally and positively.
• Adhere to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Be customer-service focused.
• Handle high complexity of work.
