Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder for a fully remote role in the United States. You will review medical records, code diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC assignments while maintaining high coding accuracy and productivity.

Ideal candidates have AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 3+ years hospital coding experience, and proficiency with encoding/abstracting software. Excellent communication and time management are essential for success.

Formación

• AHIMA or AAPC credential required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• 3+ years coding in hospital or consulting setting.
• Experience with Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions.
• Experience with Ancillary, ED, E/M leveling and related coding.

Responsabilidades

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for improvement to relevant staff.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant health-sponsored trainings and meetings.
• Demonstrate initiative in job responsibilities.
• Communicate with staff regarding clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Work professionally, efficiently and positively.
• Follow AHIMA ethics guidance and maintain customer service focus.
• Handle high complexity in decision-making and workload.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and teamwork skills.
