Job summary

Wing Assistant - India is seeking a Healthcare Virtual Assistant (Remote) to support US-based clinics with patient intake, scheduling, and data entry in EMR/EHR systems. The role requires a medical background, at least 1 year of VA experience, strong English (C1), HIPAA awareness, and excellent communication, organization, and technical skills to work in a remote, home-based setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical fields or pharmaceutical-related industry.
• At least 1-year experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Excellent English communication skills at C1 level.
• Solid understanding of medical terminologies and practices.
• Proficient in EHR/EMR systems and able to troubleshoot common issues.
• Understanding of healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Organizational & time management skills with attention to detail.
• Tech savvy and familiar with cloud services and VoIP.
• Able to work on a graveyard shift.

Responsibilities

• Document new patient and referral intake.
• Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling for patients and healthcare providers.
• Input patient information, medical records (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and billing data into EMR/EHR systems.
• Assist with processing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance information, and handling billing inquiries.
• Respond to incoming patient inquiries, providing information and directing to the appropriate healthcare professional.
• Assist in analyzing healthcare data, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance, privacy regulations, and maintenance of patient confidentiality.
• Coordinate sending medical records to various departments as directed by the Managing Physician.
• Ad hoc tasks.
