Job summary

Duke Health is hiring a Medical Records Coder II for a fully remote role. You will code complex medical records with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions, review and train staff, and ensure accurate DRG/APC assignments for optimal reimbursement. Certification in RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D is required, along with a high school diploma.

The position supports Duke Health’s revenue cycle across multiple locations. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered, paid in four installments over 24 months.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications required
• High school diploma required
• Advanced ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 coding knowledge essential
• Strong DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge
• Proficient in coding software and data entry

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions.
• Coordinate/review work of subordinate staff and assist with training.
• Audit and ensure accuracy of diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement.
• Communicate coding information with physicians and care teams.
