Job summary

Duke Health is recruiting for a Medical Records Coder II to code complex diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4. This 100% remote role supports Duke Health's revenue cycle, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid in four installments over 24 months.

Position requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications (or equivalent), a high school diploma, and coding experience per certification. Regional remote workers must reside in one of the eligible states listed.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications required.
• High school diploma required.
• No experience required for RHIA/RHIT; CCS requires 1 year coding experience; CPC/HCS-D require 2 years coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions.
• Coordinate and review the work of subordinate staff; assist with training.
• Ensure DRG/APC assignment accuracy and optimal reimbursement; abstract data for reporting.
