Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II to join the Patient Revenue Management Organization in a fully remote role. The position requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications and strong ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding skills.

You will ensure accurate coding, DRG/APC assignments, and education for physicians. The role supports the entire health system and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid in installments.

Qualifications

• Active RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D hospital coding certifications.
• Minimum required coding credentials with proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Strong knowledge of DRG/APC reimbursement methodologies.
• Experience with coding software and EMR systems is preferred.
• Must maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions.
• Review complex records to ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Coordinate and mentor subordinate coding staff.
• Audit and improve coding quality and throughput.
• Educate physicians on coding practices and conventions.
