Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II for a fully remote position. You will code inpatient/outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, review colleagues' work, and help educate staff on coding practices. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered, paid in four installments over 24 months.

Remote workers must reside in one of the eligible states listed by Duke Health. The role requires active RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications and experience as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of active RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or HCS-D certifications.
• Experience level varies by certification; some roles accept no experience with RHIA/RHIT.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions.
• Coordinate/review work of subordinate staff and assist training.
• Abstract data for reimbursement and ensure accurate DRG/APC assignment.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding practices and conventions.
• Maintain anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology knowledge through continuing education.
• Participate in audits and review documentation for coding accuracy.
