Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II for a 100% remote position. You will code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, ensure accurate reimbursement, and coordinate team work within the Patient Revenue Management Organization.

Must hold RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications (or equivalent) and have related experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available, paid in four installments over 24 months.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications required or pursued.
• High school diploma required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions.
• Knowledge of DRG/APC reimbursement and hospital coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions.
• Coordinate and review work of subordinate staff.
• Abstract data for reimbursement and ensure accurate DRG/APC assignments.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding practices and conventions.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
