Job summary

Pearson is hiring remote language scoring evaluators to assess candidate responses in multiple languages. You will join a global team supporting teacher licensure and quality by applying scoring standards and consensus reviews.

Starting at $17.50 per hour, this part-time, remote role offers flexible scoring sessions and the opportunity to contribute to education at scale while balancing other commitments.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher.
• A current teaching certification in the language you are applying for and recent teaching experience in K-12 schools.
• Alternatively, educators from colleges with a degree in a content-relevant field and recent teaching or advising in that field.
• Or be a native or fluent speaker of the language who holds a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards; participate in discussions and consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and strategies to mitigate bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
