Job summary

Pearson is recruiting remote scorers to evaluate responses from teacher candidates in multiple language categories. This part-time remote role offers flexibility and a starting rate of $17.50 per hour.

You must hold a language-specific teaching credential or be a fluent speaker with a degree, and you must be eligible to work in the United States. Training occurs before scoring and sessions are scheduled Monday–Friday, two to three times a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• A current teaching certification in the language you are applying for and you are currently teaching or have taught in schools within the last three years (including regular substitute).
• OR educators from colleges/universities who hold a degree in a content-relevant field and/or taught or advised in a content-relevant field within the last three years.
• OR native or fluent speaker of the language who holds a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss bias and apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for scoring, including passing a qualifying test.
