Job summary

Pearson is seeking evaluators to score written responses for teacher candidates in multiple languages from a remote location in the United States. The role offers a starting rate of $17.50 per hour with flexibility in scoring sessions to fit availability.

Qualified applicants include educators with current certification or recent teaching experience, native or fluent speakers with a degree, and those eligible to work in the United States. Training and confidentiality expectations apply.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and teaching certification in the language applied for, and current teaching or recent experience (last 3 years) in schools.
• Educators from colleges/universities with content-relevant degrees or advising experience in the last 3 years are eligible.
• Native or fluent speakers with a college degree may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions for Illinois and New York candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Identify and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
