Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to score responses from language teacher candidates remotely in multiple languages. Candidates must meet education and certification requirements and be eligible to work in the United States. The role offers part-time hours and a flexible remote schedule.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour with opportunities to work scoring sessions that fit your availability. Training is provided, and you will work within Pearson's Assessment & Qualifications organization.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
• A current teaching certification in the language you are applying for AND are currently teaching or have taught in schools (public or private) within the last three years (including regular substitute)
• OR are or have been educators from colleges and universities who hold a degree in a content-relevant field and/or have taught or advised in a content-relevant field within the last three years.
• OR is a native or fluent speaker of the language (read, write, and speak) and holds a college degree

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
