Job summary

DIRECTV seeks an IT Software Engineer 2 for a remote role within the United States (excluding Alaska) to advance our CX orchestration platforms built on AWS, Genesys Cloud, and Salesforce Service Cloud. You’ll own design and implementation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.

You will work on scalable, reliable workflows, contribute to documentation, and participate in code reviews, with a focus on end-to-end delivery and high-quality software artifacts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years focused on CCaaS/CX enterprise software.
• Experience with AWS Services and CI/CD pipelines for cloud native deployments.
• Experience designing and building reliable workflows and integrations in Salesforce.
• Advanced programming proficiency across multiple languages and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of system design and architecture principles.
• Demonstrated experience taking features from design through implementation and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Make informed technical decisions based on end-to-end impact, data, and prior experience.
• Take ownership of development and design for assigned systems or components.
• Lead feature development efforts with minimal oversight from senior staff.
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to align on technical solutions and delivery timelines.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold software quality standards.
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation across the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues within a discipline.
• Provide basic mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support larger initiatives while leading smaller project components.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and risks to team leads to avoid delays.
