Job summary

DIRECTV is hiring an IT Software Engineer 2 to develop features for next-generation CX orchestration platforms, centered on AWS, Genesys Cloud, and Salesforce Service Cloud. This remote role can be located anywhere in the United States, excluding Alaska.

You will own design and implementation, collaborate with product and QA teams, and mentor junior engineers as you drive reliable, scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years focused on high-scale CCaaS or CX enterprise software.
• Experience with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing and building reliable workflows and integrations in major CRMs, specifically Salesforce.
• Advanced programming proficiency across multiple languages and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of system design and architecture principles.
• Experience taking features from design through implementation and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Make informed technical decisions based on end-to-end impact and data.
• Own development and design process for assigned systems, ensuring scalable solutions.
• Lead feature development with minimal oversight from senior engineers.
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to align on solutions and timelines.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold software quality standards.
• Maintain technical documentation for knowledge sharing across the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex issues within a domain.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support larger team initiatives while leading smaller components.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and risks to team leads to avoid delays.
