Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Inpatient Coding Specialist for the Medical Coding Department. You will encode inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and ensure accuracy across facilities.

You will also identify documentation gaps and generate queries to support proper reimbursement. The role requires at least 3 years of inpatient coding in an acute hospital setting, RHIT/RHIA/CSS credentials or CPC with CCS within 6–12 months, and strong EHR and coding software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Formal education in Health Information Management or related field.
• Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Accurately abstract inpatient accounts for hospital reporting.
• Apply ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding with regulatory guidelines.
• Resolve documentation issues and identify physician queries to improve coding accuracy.
