Qualifications

• This role requires an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• Typically requires 7 years inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Handle high-dollar and long length of stay cases and maintain productivity goals.
• Collaborate with CDI and QA teams to align DRG and Medicare cases.
• Maintain continuing education and stay updated on coding guidelines.
