Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. The role focuses on complex inpatient documentation, applying ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes in a timely, compliant manner.

Requires an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field, and coding certification (AAPC/AHIMA). Prior CDI collaboration and high-volume productivity are valued. Remote work flexibility and a 40-hour work week are available as per policy.

Qualifications

• Requires 7 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field is required.
• Coding Certification by AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure code selection follows official guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards per department policies.
• Collaborate with CDI/Quality teams to align DRGs and Medicare case reconciliation.
• Participate in payer audits and updates with clinical teams.
