Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coding Specialist to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. You will review complex inpatient documentation and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will work full-time Monday through Friday, 40 hours, in a professional office setting, with 95% quality and 100% productivity targets, and collaborate with CDI and QA teams to ensure proper DRG reconciliation.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding in acute care
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA required
• Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and coding guidelines

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign codes (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS).
• Ensure correct code selection following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high quality (≥95%) and meet productivity standards (≥100%).
• Collaborate with CDI and QA teams for DRG reconciliation and documentation improvements.
• Participate in payer audits and updates with clinical teams.
