Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a seasoned inpatient coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. You will code complex inpatient cases using ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, while collaborating with CDI and clinical teams to ensure accurate DRGs and reimbursements.

The role requires 7 years of inpatient coding in acute care, AHIMA or AAPC certification, and strong knowledge of coding guidelines and medical terminology. Remote option available for eligible states.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding experience in acute care.
• Advanced proficiency in ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign codes per ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Ensure correct code selection following official guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high productivity and quality standards in coding tasks.
• Collaborate with CDI and quality teams to align DRG and Medicare cases.
• Communicate with clinicians for documentation improvements as needed.
• Support payer audits and coding-related inquiries.
