Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance, external payer reviews, and education across healthcare organizations. The role offers full remote work with a flexible schedule and optional part-time support.

You will provide detailed rationales for coding changes and stay updated on regulatory changes, contributing to high DRG accuracy and outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and turnaround.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics and maintains professional standards.
• Maintains customer-service focus and professionalism while learning and improving.
