Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance assessments, external payer reviews, coding education, and workflow audits. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and potential PRN support.

Spinal experience and strong query-writing skills are a plus; part-time 20 hours/week is possible. The role involves audits per scope of work using MS DRG/APR DRGs, providing detailed rationale, and ensuring regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work for onboarding, focused, SLAs or other reviews using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides concise rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Maintains professional, efficient, and positive demeanor.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
