Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with flexible scheduling. The position emphasizes high attention to detail, expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, and leadership of Level 1 & 2 coders.

You will ensure accurate coding, drive documentation improvements, and uphold 95% coding and MS-DRG accuracy while meeting productivity benchmarks. Candidates should have at least 3 years inpatient coding experience, and CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Abstract medical codes from patient records with precision.
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% MS-DRG accuracy rate.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
