Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to perform facility inpatient coding audits, provide rationale, and support onboarding and service reviews. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to impact payer reviews and coding quality.

You will work with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs, maintain high DRG accuracy, and educate coders through the auditing process while staying current with regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification is required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain high DRG accuracy and familiarity with MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work for onboarding, focused reviews, SLAs or other reviews.
• Provides concise rationale with references and documentation locations for any changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases for optimal workflow and turnaround time.
• Educates coders through the auditing process.
• Maintains professional, efficient and positive demeanor.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer service focus, flexibility and dependability.
