Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rich, concise rationale with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes and best practices.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure efficient workflow and turnaround.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics and professional standards.
• Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to excellence.
