Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to enhance coding quality and compliance across payer reviews and education programs. This fully remote role supports healthcare organizations from your home workspace.

You will perform inpatient facility coding audits using MS DRG/APR DRGs, provide clear rationale for changes with references to documentation, stay current with regulatory updates, and educate coders through the auditing process while delivering professional, reliable service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work, for onboarding, focused, SLAs or other reviews, using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides clear rationale explaining the reasoning behind identified changes, with specific references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Educates coders via the auditing process.
• Adheres to professional standards and ethics.
