Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance assessments, external payer reviews, and coding education. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling and optional PRN support for IA IP auditing.

Spinal experience and strong query writing skills are a plus, with a preference for about 20 hours per week. The role emphasizes accurate DRG coding, thorough rationale for changes, and adherence to ethics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rich and concise rationale for changes with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Must be customer-service focused and professional.
• Demonstrates high complexity of work and strong organizational skills.
