Baptist Health System, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder for a remote role in the Appeals & Denials Department. You will code inpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4, verify abstracts, and support billing accuracy.

Requirements include RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentials and 3–5 years of coding experience. Strong audit and communication skills, plus proficiency with EHR systems, are essential.

Formación

• High School Diploma required.
• RHIT or RHIA or CCS credentials preferred.
• 3–5 years of coding knowledge required.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts.
• Be knowledgeable of CPT coding for Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to the billing system.
• Maintain coding A/R goals by completing activity for all discharged accounts daily.
• Work with ACHA, DNFB and post-bill error reports when applicable.
• Advise and coordinate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
• Provide mentorship and auditing/training support to staff.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication, and independent work
• Proficient with encoder software and EHR systems.
