Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder for our Appeals & Denials Department. This role codes diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts, ensures CPT-4 accuracy on observation accounts, and submits abstracts to the billing system.

The ideal candidate holds RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentials and has 3–5 years of coding experience. This remote position requires working in approved states and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• RHIT or RHIA or CCS AHIMA credential(s) required.
• 3–5 years of coding experience required.
• Inpatient hospital coding using ICD-10-CM/PCS with CPT-4 on observation accounts when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts.
• Verify and submit abstracts to the billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain Coding A/R goals and work various denial reports as applicable.
• Collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM for coding documentation and auditing.
• Provide mentorship and training support to coders and staff.
