Job summary

The position requires RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials (AHIMA) and 3–5 years of coding experience, with proficiency in EHR and encoder software. Remote work is approved for qualifying states.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• RHIT or RHIA certification (AHIMA) or CCS certification (AHIMA) preferred.
• 3–5 years coding knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnosis codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts to comply with state and federal requirements.
• Apply CPT coding classifications and assign CPT-4 codes on observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to the billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain coding accuracy to support A/R goals and timely postings for discharged accounts.
• Collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation and provide mentorship to staff.
