Job summary

AVATAR FLEET LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day‑to‑day security administration and infrastructure operations. You will work closely with the CTO and software teams in a fully remote role, supporting Linux hosts, AWS services, CI/CD, and audit readiness.

You will manage SOC 2 Type II controls, implement hardened configurations, and automate provisioning with Terraform and Ansible while maintaining uptime and security for our driver‑facing platform used by trucking and

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands‑on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration, especially EC2, IAM, ECS, networking, and storage.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and maintaining controls.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, shell scripting, Docker.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to incidents with clear docs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) and Linux hosts in production.
• Implement security hardening, patching, backups, and monitoring across environments.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II control evidence collection and audit preparation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment environments, and secure pipeline access.
• Automate provisioning and routine ops with Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CLI.
• Troubleshoot across Linux, AWS, networking, containers, and runtimes with engineering.
