AvatarFleet is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration and infrastructure operations. You will work closely with the CTO and software engineering to manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and SOC 2 Type II compliance while ensuring production reliability on Linux hosts, AWS services, and CI/CD processes.

The role emphasizes continuous audit readiness, documented controls, and secure deployments. Fully remote work is offered for candidates in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Linux systems administration in production
• Experience with AWS EC2, ECS, IAM, networking, load balancing, storage
• Practical experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and maintaining controls
• Hands-on vulnerability management and Linux patching
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices

Responsabilités

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 control execution with CTO and control owners
• Manage vulnerability assessments, patching, and remediation tracking
• Deploy and maintain AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) and secure configurations
• Administer Debian and Amazon Linux hosts; support Docker, ECS workloads
• Maintain security monitoring, incident response, and runbooks; ensure backups and recovery procedures
• Support engineering with CI/CD configuration and secure pipeline access
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI; document changes
