Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration, Linux systems, and reliability across our AWS-based infrastructure. You will work closely with the CTO and engineering teams on deployment, monitoring, backups, access controls, and audit readiness.

The role emphasizes patching, mitigations, CI/CD support, and collaboration to deliver secure, available services for transportation clients. Fully remote with regional considerations for operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production.
• Strong AWS administration, including EC2, ECS, WAF, IAM.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Shell scripting and Python experience.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS).
• Maintain patched, hardened Linux hosts and production apps.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II control execution and audits.
• Implement monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure deployments.
