Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations. The role collaborates with the CTO and software engineering to ensure production reliability, patching, and governance for SOC 2 Type II compliance.

Responsibilities span AWS infrastructure, Linux systems, monitoring, incident response, and CI/CD support. Remote work is allowed for US residents, with a focus on secure, scalable deployments and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production.
• Strong AWS administration skills with EC2 and Linux-hosted applications.
• Experience with SOC 2 Type II audits and evidence collection.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, shell scripting, Docker.
• Ability to troubleshoot across Linux, AWS, networking, containers, databases, storage, and application runtimes.
• Clear written communication and disciplined documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS resources including EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, and IAM.
• Administer Debian and Amazon Linux hosts and troubleshoot OS, runtime, containers, and storage.
• Maintain infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and recovery coordination.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment environments.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform and Ansible.
