Job summary

AvatarFleet is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations, working with CTO and software engineers. The role focuses on Linux-based production systems on AWS, with ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, and EFS, plus CI/CD support.

You'll drive SOC 2 Type II readiness, patching, monitoring, incident response, and automation with Terraform and Ansible. Fully remote with flexible hours and a collaborative, small-team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration skills (EC2, ECS, IAM, networking, storage).
• Experience with SOC 2 Type II audits and controls.
• Proficient in vulnerability management, patching, and hardening.
• CI/CD tooling and deployment pipeline support with Terraform/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day AWS infrastructure administration and security controls.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II evidence collection and audit prep with CTO.
• Maintain patches, monitoring, backups, and incident response processes.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
