Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC in the United States is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to oversee security administration and infrastructure operations in a fully remote role. You will partner with the CTO and software engineers to maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance, patching, monitoring, and reliable deployments, ensuring audit readiness and customer trust.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production.
• Strong AWS experience, including EC2, ECS, WAF, IAM, networking and monitoring.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits with evidence collection.
• Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, and scripting.
• Ability to troubleshoot across Linux, cloud, containers, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 Type II control execution.
• Maintain a year-round control calendar; track evidence and remediation.
• Keep security policies aligned with actual practices; close gaps early.
• Administer access controls and support access reviews; maintain logs.
• Run vulnerability assessments and prioritize findings by risk.
• Patch Linux hosts and container images in partnership with engineering.
• Deploy and maintain AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS).
• Support CI/CD with secure deployment practices and environment consistency.
• Automate provisioning and runbooks with Terraform and Ansible.
• Maintain monitoring, backups, and incident response procedures.
