Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support HCD and HFE across VA Connected Health tools. The role joins a cross-functional sprint team, shaping requirements, workflows, and wireframes for development and production environments.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in user research, artifact development, and accessibility conformance (Section 508 and WCAG 2.2) within federal health IT contexts, and can travel across the continental US for onsite activities.

Qualifications

Foundational understanding of human-centered design and user experience principles in a professional setting.
Experience supporting qualitative research activities such as interviews, focus groups, or usability tests.
Ability to produce and maintain design research artifacts like journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
Familiarity with Mural or similar tools and ability to facilitate sessions.
Working familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Supports HCD and HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, and usability testing.
Develops actionable recommendations from user research insights.
Coordinates recruitment and schedules for clinical subjects and Veterans participation.
Maintains interview notes and ensures proper consent for recording.
Creates and maintains journey maps, personas, service blueprints, and wireframes.
Participates in heuristic evaluations and accessibility assessments of health IT products.
Supports field testing, user acceptance testing, and pilots with test logistics.
Analyzes human behavior to ensure designs meet human interface requirements.
Monitors app store feedback and produces weekly/monthly reports.
