Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support human-centered design and human factors across VA Connected Health initiatives. This is a fully remote role within the United States, enabling collaboration with a cross-functional HCD/HFE sprint team.

You will elicit user requirements, develop validated workflows and wireframes, and evaluate usability through prototypes and studies, following VA guidelines and the VA Design System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of work experience in HCD, UX, or related field.
• Experience supporting qualitative research activities such as interviews, focus groups, usability testing.
• Ability to produce design research artifacts such as journey maps, personas, wireframes.
• Familiarity with Mural or similar collaboration tools and facilitation skills.
• Working knowledge of accessibility requirements (Section 508, WCAG 2.2).
• Strong communication skills to present findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support HCD and HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, and usability testing.
• Plan and analyze user research to generate actionable insights.
• Coordinate recruitment and scheduling with VA leads.
• Create and maintain artifacts like journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
• Ensure accessibility considerations in research and reporting.
• Assist with field testing, UAT, and pilots.
• Track app feedback and produce weekly/monthly reports.
• Collaborate with product teams to refine design roadmaps.
