Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support human-centered design and usability across VA Connected Health tools. You will conduct user research, develop validated workflows, and produce artifacts for development teams, ensuring accessibility and inclusive design.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, travels for onsite research within the continental US, and follows VA Design System guidelines. A strong portfolio of research work is preferred.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of human-centered design and UX principles.
• Experience supporting qualitative research activities and synthesis.
• Ability to produce design artifacts like journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
• Familiarity with Mural and collaboration tools; willingness to develop advanced facilitation.
• Working familiarity with accessibility requirements (Section 508, WCAG 2.2).
• Strong written and verbal communication for presenting research findings.

Responsibilities

• Support HCD/HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, and usability testing.
• Plan, conduct, and analyze user research to develop insights and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate recruitment and scheduling for clinical subject matter experts and Veterans.
• Develop and maintain HCD artifacts (journey maps, personas, wireframes).
• Contribute to field testing, UAT, pilots, and SOPs.
