Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to advance user research, create actionable design artifacts, and guide product teams across the VA Connected Health portfolio. The role supports multiple research activities, accessibility considerations, and cross-functional collaboration with clinical stakeholders.

Remote within the United States with travel as needed. You will work on sprint teams, develop wireframes, journeys, and service blueprints, and contribute to design decisions

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of human-centered design and UX principles.
• Experience supporting qualitative research activities (interviews, focus groups, usability testing).
• Ability to produce and maintain design research artifacts (journey maps, personas, flows).
• Familiarity with Mural and collaboration tools; willingness to improve facilitation skills.
• Working familiarity with accessibility requirements (Section 508, WCAG 2.2).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present research findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supports HCD and HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, and usability testing.
• Plans, conducts, and analyzes user research to derive actionable insights.
• Develops and maintains artifacts like journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
• Facilitates workshops and stakeholder sessions using Mural and VA-approved tools.
• Ensures accessibility considerations in research and reporting.
