Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; degree preferred.
• 2+ years in a medical records setting; medical terminology required.
• Experience with FMLA and disability form completion, preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated documentation and communication skills.
• Strong computer software experience: Word & Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
• Must type 50 wpm.
• Willing to learn new equipment and processes quickly.
• Self-motivated, team player with customer satisfaction focus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Processes FMLA/Short Term Disability paperwork per guidelines.
• Communicates with patients and physician coordinators in a patient-centered manner.
• Processes medical record requests with HIPAA and HITECH compliance.
• Completes FMLA/Disability forms using standard responses.
• Ensures data entry into the secure processing platform within turnaround times.
• Maintains professional relationships with clients.
• Provides onboarding and training to new employees as required.
• Produces periodic reporting as requested.
• Provides care to patients and representatives.
• Complies with HIPAA, state/federal regs and labor laws.
• Handles confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
• Provides support for Forms, Release of Information and audit teams.
