Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a BESS Engineer III to design, develop, implement, and optimize battery energy storage systems. This fully remote role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and engineering oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance solutions.

The candidate will mentor junior engineers, manage cross-disciplinary project teams, and coordinate with vendors and clients to deliver robust BESS configurations across projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Experience in design, integration, and optimization of BESS components (lithium-ion, inverters, BMS, interconnection).
• Familiarity with grid interconnection standards and protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical SME for BESS engineering scopes and provide guidance to project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of BESS projects ensuring compliance with contracts, utilities, and AHJ requirements.
• Review feasibility studies, site assessments, and sizing analyses for optimal configurations.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.
• Oversee system modeling, simulation, and performance optimization.
• Support procurement with vendor recommendations and drawing reviews.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and energization.
