Affirm is hiring an Analyst I in the Risk & Analytics team to learn consumer lending fundamentals while executing scoped analytical tasks daily under the guidance of senior analysts and managers. You will use SQL and Python to build scalable reporting, monitor portfolio performance, and derive insights to support risk and growth decisions.

This remote-first role emphasizes collaboration across Product, Legal, and Compliance and exposure to AI tooling for efficient analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Basic understanding of consumer lending regulations and ML applications.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy across product, risk, or growth areas.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics and macro trends.
• Technical execution: write clean SQL and Python and collaborate with Engineering on risk models.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models.
• Drive launch alignment and ensure market entries align with capabilities and risk appetite.
• AI fluency: integrate AI tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks.
