Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I to learn consumer lending fundamentals while executing scoped analytical tasks under senior guidance. You will leverage advanced data analytics to support product, risk, and growth strategies and monitor portfolio performance.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate evolving consumer lending regulations into data models and policies, and you will explore modern AI tooling to solve problems efficiently in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role, preferably in consumer lending/fintech.
• Degree in Data Science, CS, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health and flag risks and anomalies to senior team members.
• Write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and support ML/risk model deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Support cross-functional launches and market entries with operational considerations.
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate data mining while ensuring output quality.
