Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I to learn consumer lending while executing scoped analytical tasks and leveraging advanced data analytics to optimize strategy and monitor portfolio performance. You will work under guidance of senior analysts to build scalable reporting and contribute to ML-enabled risk insights in a remote-first environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration across product, compliance, and risk, with 1–3 years in analytics, a quantitative degree, and proficiency in SQL and Python

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships in fintech or financial services valued.
• Degree in Data Science, CS, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Understand consumer lending regulations and ML applications.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health and flag risks and anomalies to senior team members.
• Write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and support ML/risk model deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Support cross-functional launches and market entries with data-driven insights.
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate data mining and routine tasks.
