Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I in Risk & Analytics to learn the fundamentals of consumer lending while executing scoped analytical tasks on a day-to-day cadence. You will leverage SQL and Python to help optimize business strategies and monitor portfolio performance.

You will collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate evolving regulations into foundational data models and operational policies, and you will integrate AI tools to accelerate data work in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role.
• Degree in data science, CS, engineering, economics, or related field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics and macro trends, flagging risks to senior team members.
• Technical execution: write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and support ML/risk model deployment.
