Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I to learn consumer lending fundamentals while executing analytical tasks. You’ll work under senior analysts to optimize strategies, monitor portfolio health, and build scalable reporting using SQL and Python.

You’ll engage cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Compliance to reflect evolving regulations. We value curiosity, collaboration, and the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions, with exposure to modern AI tooling and a remote-first

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships in fintech/financial services valued.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Basic understanding of consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and ML applications to business problems.
• Exceptional communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy across product, risk, or growth.
• Monitor portfolio health and flag risks and anomalies to leadership.
• Write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reports and support ML/risk models deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models.
• Support cross-functional launches and market entries aligned with risk appetite.
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate data analysis and automate tasks.
