Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I to learn consumer lending fundamentals while executing scoped analytical tasks. You’ll work under senior analysts and leverage advanced data analytics to optimize strategies and monitor portfolio performance.

You should have 1–3 years in analytics, a degree in data science/CS/engineering/economics, and solid SQL/Python skills. The role offers remote-first work with occasional office presence and a focus on scalable data models and risk insights.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role, internships in fintech or financial services valued.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Understanding of consumer lending regulations and ML applications to business problems.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics and macroeconomic trends and flag risks.
• Technical execution: write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and support ML/risk models.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Drive launch alignment by ensuring new product launches and market entries align with capabilities and risk.
• AI fluency: integrate AI tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks while verifying outputs.
