Job summary

Volkert, Inc. seeks an Engineer/Construction Manager to support our Gulf Coast projects from design through construction.

This role requires coordinating with field personnel, rail operators, and subconsultants, and traveling regionally across Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. You will manage project execution, monitor progress, and maintain documentation in line with client requirements and corporate policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in Civil/Port Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant design and construction project management experience.
• Experience with port and maritime projects and rail-related coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design engineer for port and maritime projects from concept through design and bid package prep.
• Manage and deliver construction of port and maritime projects.
• Represent the client in communications with design firms, contractors, and consultants.
• Prepare Project Execution Plan (PEP) with team, schedules, and staffing needs.
• Conduct kickoff meetings and ensure quality control reviews are documented.
