Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to support its Maritime and Port service line in the Gulf Coast Region.

The role will be based in Volkert's Gulf Coast offices in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana with regional travel and potential remote work as needed. The successful candidate will provide technical design, project management, and construction management for port/maritime projects, including terminal expansion, dredging, wharf upgrades, rail design, and related

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Civil or Port Engineering/Construction Management or related field.
• 10+ years of design and construction project management experience on large-scale port and maritime projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead design engineer for port and maritime projects from concept through design and bid package.
• Manage and deliver construction of port and maritime projects.
• Act as the Owner's (Client) Representative in communications with design firms, contractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare a Project Execution Plan (PEP) with team organization, scheduling, and staffing.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure quality control and on-time close-out.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Port Engineering/Construction Management/Architecture/Engineering or related field
