Volkert Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to support maritime and port projects across the Gulf Coast region, with offices in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The role requires travel and potential remote work as needed to meet project demands.

The successful candidate will lead design, manage construction, and serve as Owner's representative, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements while coordinating with design teams, rail operators, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• PE licensure is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of design/construction project management experience on large port/maritime projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design engineer for port/maritime projects from concept through design and bid package preparation.
• Manage and deliver construction of port/maritime projects and coordinate with clients and subs.
• Act as Owner's representative in communications with design firms, contractors, and suppliers.
• Develop a Project Execution Plan outlining team, schedule, and staffing needs.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings and ensure quality control reviews are completed.
• Maintain daily field contact and monitor progress, budgets, and schedules.
